What Is A Van?

"Van" is a man-made definition for a specific "with white" coat pattern in bicolor & calico cats. Although we frequently use the word van to suggest that a cat is carrying two bicolor genes (is homozygous for the spotting gene), the definition of a van refers to the distribution and limitation of color on a mostly white cat.
