William Shakespurr

We would like to pay tribute to the feline world’s most revered playwright and poet, William Shakespurr.

England’s beloved literary feline, Shakespurr enjoyed exploring the themes of love and lust, despair and distemper, betrayal and shame in over 38 plays, the most famous of which were:.

  • Romeow and Juliet
  • The Tempusst
  • Antony and Cleo-cat-ra
  • Hamcat, The Prince of Denmark
  • Taming of the Mew
  • The Furry Wives of Windsor
  • The Nine Lives of Henry VIII

The renowned Shakespurr wrote so many immortal lines. His favorites were: 

  • Tabby or not Tabby… That is the question.
  • Alas poor Simba. I knew him well.
  • Wherefor art thou? Not feeding me.
  • If meow-sic be the food of love, play on.
