PandEcats 2024

PandEcats (P&E for short) is immensely proud to introduce to our readers our new “look”. For almost three years, the people behind P&E have been working on creating a new and improved version of our beloved online magazine. With over 2000 articles, the redesign has been a colossal task. Special mention must be made of Kathy Durdick of Ristokat Himalayans. Kathy is an expert “coder” & web designer in her non-cat life. She spear-headed the technical aspects of the re-design. Without Kathy’s talent and dedication, our new look would not have been possible.

Photos, Photos & More Photos

Perhaps the first thing readers will notice about the newer, better PandEcats is that there are more photos, images, videos or animations in our articles. We all love looking at kitties, so there is now more to enjoy on every page of our digital magazine.

Every Article Has Been Updated

Every article currently published on P&E has been reviewed and updated to ensure the information provided is the very best available. Most exciting, there is now a collection of “Trending” articles at the bottom of each article page.

Our New Homepage

No redesign would be complete without a new layout for the homepage.

  • Top Of The Page Header: At the very top of the homepage is a header with the current Issue Date, Next Issue Date, Search feature and a Sign In and/or Subscribe Button.
  • Our Category Index has moved from the left side of the old website to the right side of the page/screen. To expand the categories simply click on the arrow to the right of the category name.
  • Gallery & New Subscribers/Renewals: The newest additions to the Gallery and a list of recent subscribers and renewals have moved from the right hand column to under the homepage articles.
  • Footer: The footer at the very bottom of the page has been expanded with a series of links to provide easy access to “business pages”.

Functionality

A few things have changed regarding how you use ShowCatsOnline:

  • Sign In/Sign Out: On the upper right hand corner of every page is a Sign In/Sign Out feature. To read a “subscriber” article, sign in with your username and password in the upper right hand corner at the top of the page. Once signed in you have access to all the articles and features on our website.
  • Subscribe To P&E: Not yet a subscriber? At the top of the page is a button to click to subscribe to P&E. Or you can also go to the main horizontal menu and click on Subscribe.
  • P&E is now “Responsive”: Perhaps the most challenging aspect of our re-design was making every article as easy to read on a cellphone as it is on a desktop, laptop or tablet. This is called being “responsive”. We hope you like this new feature.
  • Search Feature: Our search feature has been totally upgraded. It is now located at the top of every page on SCO.

New Publishing Dates

P&E will now be published on the 1st and the 15th of every month. Mark your calendars.

More To Come

We have more plans for the future. Some of our “older” articles are still being revamped and will return to the index once they are completed. We will be announcing the debut of additional new features in the next few months.

Until then, the staff of PandEcats thank you for your support and wish you all the best for 2024.

“In its flawless grace and superior self-sufficiency I have seen a symbol of the perfect beauty and bland impersonality of the universe itself, objectively considered, and in its air of silent mystery there resides for me all the wonder and fascination of the unknown.”
