March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day. This Irish-themed holiday seems to be a celebration that is universally beloved. Traditionally, on this holiday, people of all nationalities become honorary “Irish”, wearing green clothing, drinking green concoctions and flaunting shamrocks and bowler hats. While there may be no historical links between St. Patrick and cats, that doesn’t prevent our feline friends from wanting to join in the fun of celebrating the “green” holiday. But outside of photoshop there are no green cats… or are there?

This feral green cat was wandering the streets of a Bulgarian town. It was discovered that the cat had taken a liking to sleeping in a pile of powdered green paint at a local garage. A good bath and he was distinctly less green.

When is an Irish Potato not an Irish Potato? When it’s a French Fry.

This long-haired cat was clipped to resemble a striped dragon… then his hair was dyed green for a a cat grooming contest.

What does it mean when you find a lucky horseshoe? Some poor horse is going barefoot!

This Russian kitten was born green but its adult coat grew in a red tabby color.

What do you call a fake stone in Ireland? A sham rock.

Researchers inserted a gene into the kitten in the left that helps it resist the feline form of Aids. A “tracer” gene was also modified to make the kitten glow green in the dark.

What does a leprechaun call a happy man wearing green? A Jolly Green Giant.

Known as “Topiary Cats”, these garden masterpieces are the product of Englishman Richard Saunders. But they are not a product of plants and shears, but have been artistically created in Photoshop.
