The Persian has been around in existence for a very long time. Examples of our modern solid-colored Persians appeared in England among the 160 exhibits at the first British show held on July 13, 1871.
Imports from Britian formed the foundation of US catteries. All the colors at the time, the solids (especially the blues) were the epitome of Persian type.
