The Persian has been around in existence for a very long time. And while bicolors are mentioned in some of the earliest stud books, they were considered to be a “spoiled” color, and were not accepted for show competition, or generally used for breeding.
It wasn’t until 1955 that CFA accepted the calico for showing – and ONLY the calico! It took until 1970 before the other colors were accepted by CFA.
