Jeremy, a four-year-old boy with autism, was riding his bicycle in his family’s driveway when a loose dog came from behind, grabbed Jeremy’s leg, and started pulling the boy down the driveway. Tara, the family’s tabby cat, tackled the dog and chased him away. Tara then returned to Jeremy’s side to stand guard. Jeremy needed 10 stitches in his calf following the attack. Footage of the incident was recorded on household surveillance. When uploaded to YouTube it received over 16.8 million views in the first 48 hours. Friskies ranked Tara the 22nd most influential cat on the internet.
