CatPedigrees.com is a collection of breed databases that allows cat fanciers to research the pedigrees of their cats online.
CatPedigrees began in 2003 with the Odin Persian database when the OG linechaser, Martha Kohlmeyer of Odin Persians passed away after a long battle with cancer. Martha was one of the initial members of Persian Linechasers, an e-mail group that exchanged and researched pedigrees. She was known for her painstakingly accurate pedigree research, and was often the group’s “eagle eye”, pointing out the smallest discrepancies in a pedigree. Renowned as a breeder of Lilac and Chocolate Persians, Martha bred CFA’s first male lilac Grand Champion, GC Odin Destiny.
When Martha passed, PandEcats.com was asked if we would preserve her database of pedigrees… and so CatPedigrees.com was born. PandEcats assumed the cost of hosting & domain registration while the extraordinary Kathy Durdick of Ristokat Himalayans & Persians volunteered her expertise as a computer programmer to create the coding of the various pedigree databases to allow them to be searched and displayed online.
Over the subsequent two decades, other Persian/Exotic databases were added including the largest public pedigree databases for Persians, Himalayans & Exotic Shorthairs. CatPedigrees also welcomed databases for 14 other breeds, ranging from Abyssinians to Turkish Angoras.
By the end of 2025, CatPedigrees had outgrown its old server. The decision was made to take the website offline to facilitate the move to a larger, better server. We took this opportunity to upgrade all the coding, programming, scripts and plug-ins that allow CatPedigrees to properly search the databases.
New Log-in Feature
In 2025, the CatPedigrees website was experiencing ever-more frequent crashes. After detailed investigation, we discovered that robots were mining the databases and the resulting spike in traffic was over-powering the website and causing it to be crash.
Visitors to CatPedigrees.com will now be required to use the username cpuser and password cpuser-pw to access the databases. We hope that this will prevent the bots from crashing the website. You will see the Login Page below when accessing a database:

Current Databases
There are 14 separate Persian/Exotic databases varying from the smallest at 1,000 individual cats’ pedigrees, up to the huge Carictor database of over 3/4 of a million individual cats. The coding of each database has to be updated individually… and the larger the database, the more time-consuming the job.
The databases are each named after their contributor’s cattery name.
As of February 1, 2026 the Persians & Exotics databases updated and brought back online include:
- Alomi Database (Himalayan/Persian 383,058 Records): This is the personal database of Danish breeder Lasse Mortensen, a retired judge in FIFe.
- Calivan Database (Himalyan/Persian 586,423 Records): Kathleen Holahan is a breeder of over 100 Grand Champions in CFA. Kathy retired from breeding in 2011 and now focuses on building the Calivan pedigree database.
- Lorien’Cats Database (Persians Only 5002 Records): This is a small database featuring mainly European pedigrees collected by Sandra Licciardi.
- Odin Database (Himalayan/Persian 50,000 Records): CPs first database contributed by Martha Kohlmeyer of Odin Persians, renowned breeder of Lilac and Chocolate Persians.
- Ristokat Database (Himalayan/Persian 89,815 Records): The husband and wife team of Jon and Kathy Durdick began showing & breeding Himalayans in 1994. Kathy is the Webmaster of CatPedigrees and Associate Editor of PandEcats.com.
As the updating of each of the remaining databases is completed over the next few weeks, it will be brought back online.
