Cat Poop Cookies

If you just read the article titled, Scoop on Poop, you have learned all about the technique of “reading” cat poop like a fortune teller reads a deck of tarot cards. I figure that while you are in the groove, you might as well learn how to make cat poop cookies too :-)… and it’s PURRRRR-fect for a Halloween Party.

Recipe For Cat Poop Cookies

There are several common recipes for this delicious gourmand treat. Of course, I am not sure you will find any of them in Martha Stewart’s cookbook, despite her love of Himalayans.

Chocolate Ingredients:

  • ½ cup honey
  • 2/3 cup (1 and 1/3 stick) butter, margarine or lard
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla or peppermint extract
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • Grape-Nuts™ cereal

Gingerbread Ingredients:

  •  ¼ cup honey
  •  ¼ cup molasses
  •  2/3 cup (1 and 1/3 stick) butter, margarine or lard
  •  1 egg
  •  2 and 1/3 cups whole wheat flour
  •  spices: ginger, cinnamon and cloves to taste
  •  Grape-Nuts™ cereal

Extra Additives for that truly unique look:

  •  coconut (tapeworms)
  •  chocolate chips
  •  butterscotch chips
  •  peanut butter chips
  •  cooked spaghetti or ramen noodles (roundworms)
  •  corn
  •  peanuts
  •  M&M’s™

Directions:

  • Microwave the honey just until it bubbles slightly -about 1 minute.
  •  Add the butter and the molasses to the honey.
  •  Add the egg.
  •  Mix well.
  •  Now add all the other ingredients including any “Extras” you have chosen to include.
  • Chill 1 hour in the freezer or several hours in the fridge.
  •  Next, roll dough logs about the diameter of cat poops. Make them various lengths of course.
  •  Roll the logs in grape-nuts and bake at 350 degrees till done – between 10 to 20 minutes.
  •  Serve in a new disposable cat litter box on a bed of Grape-Nuts™ cereal, with a new, unused cat litter scoop.
  • You can get a lovely effect by dipping the scoop in melted chocolate or pudding.
  •  Mixing brown sugar with the Grape-Nuts™ makes the cookie sweeter while also adding a realistic icky look.

Optional Recipe

  •  2/3 cup butter
  •  1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
