Halloween Treat For Kitty

Does your favorite kitty want a trick — or a treat? Cats may not like dressing up in a costume, but most felines appreciate a Halloween goodie or two. Chocolate is a kitty no-no as it is toxic to kitties, but here is a yummy recipe you can easily mix together with leftover pie filling from your pumpkin baking that is not only tasty, but it is actually good for your favorite feline.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups of wheat flour
  • 1/2 canned pumpkin
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • Optional: 2 tbs peanut butter or 1/4 cup of blueberries

Baking Directions

  • Preheat the over to 350C
  • Mix all the ingredients together. The mixture should be the consistency of a dry dough, rather than a batter. Add a little water as it is needed to keep the mixture workable.
  • Roll the dry dough into about 1/2 inch sheet.
  • Use your cookie cutter of choice, or simply use a sharp edge make cookie pattern of your own.
  • Bake until the cookies are hard, about 30-40 minutes.

These pumpkin treats keep best in an airtight container, or you can preserve them in the freezer for up to 6 months.
